Finding Mr. Darcy: High School Edition

by Erin Butler

Finding Mr. Darcy- High School Edition by Erin Butler

Release Date: 09/16/14

Summary from Goodreads:

Sixteen-year-old Liza Johnson takes fangirl to a whole new level of crazy when she decides to take dating advice from her literary hero: Jane Austen. With the help of her best friends, Liza sheds her ancient-speak and complete Austen wardrobe for something a bit more modern in an attempt at finding her very own Mr. Darcy. Enter Will, the new kid and Liza's Darcy incarnate. Add her BFF's ex to mix and the sexy Brit who kisses with an accent, and Liza is in trouble. So, what's a girl to do? Without her mom to go to relationship advice, Liza turns to the only person she can truly trust with matters of the heart via her mother's copy of COMPLETED WORKS OF JANE AUSTEN. It's too bad Austen's heroines have never played Spin the Bottle or Seven Minutes in Heaven. Liza's determined to find her true Austen-esque happy ending, but if she can't trust herself instead of books, she just might end up in her own tragic love story.

MY REVIEW

Hello!!!

Your mother in the hospital for a car accident , you find out that your father is an important spy, the new kid on the school you move the ground below you and without than you knew , you was unconsciously trained to be a spy . This is the life of Melina in company  with your family.
All that cake explodes on the right to change the lives of Melina time, and thus his relationship with his father will be a team of spies to save his mother, his brother Travis in the boat with knowledge of physics, a big lot of gadgets and clear without having to let go of that is still a teenager with wanting to know of guys, have fun and have a normal life.
The book is good, has a history spying interesting, than lover of this type of read could make them attractive this story, or even if you're a beginner to these topics would a good option to start with this way of spying. The characters are defined as the author wants to represent it, they are easy to understand and enter into this world. The writing is fluid and if I had any clash with it, you can take the reading and continue the journey to save the world with Melina and her father.

The book has a starting point and a good story and I think that could give way to more adventures if not of this character with more, with Melina and her father and new characters, author has very well defined the path where you want to go, this is one of those topics that can still be explored to be a saga, one would need to take care of some details.

I think this book, I apply the "not you, it's me", the one that did not have it so defined was me, although I had clashes with her and even not defined the why, still enjoy the story and it was a nice challenge to take it, it is always good to explore the themes of spies, bad guys out there and see new challenges to the characters. In this book I am left with Travis.

A good choice for those afternoons, after finishing your duties of school or house and with  a milkshake, chocolate in my case :).

Welcome new official section: Alice Little Things!

littlethings

Hello!!!

Yeih ! ! When I start the blog I had a day where you put what happened out of my time reading aka reviews , usually I wrote at the end of the month. I know ! the last 3 months of 2013 I did not write that section and maybe I was losing it a little. Why ? ? ? ? ? Complicated Months !

My new school, months of celebration and if many books to spread the word, it was a bit complicated . But new year , new official section , Little Things Alice section will be to narrate , tell, gossiping as they like to take it, some things I like and find some crazy meaning of because I love to read , and also part of my interests . The issue, to know more of this blogger , administrator , reviewer or maybe girl than in his past life was a cat.

With that start, January good for me is a month between that I love and I'm terrified , when the day January 1st arrives, I know it is missing some days for my birthday and I get a little tense , maybe it is the fact so many celebrations , this year however, was tense because came the school and had exam! Pff ... Still it was great to enjoy a Rock Birthday Yeah!

P.S : Always I celebrated with a good cheeseburger.

On Tv: Ok ... I'm Alice and I love Tom Mison in Sleepy Hollow! ... JA Ja, I admit, I had my doubts about the program, even so,do not hesitate to see it in its first broadcast, what happened? Listen at first to The Rolling Stones won my attention as 40%, see the starting very well 70%, Hear to speak at Tom Mison .... 200%! I Love series, every Monday I watched the series and the ending was fucking great!
Current Mode: second season please soon! and shocked by those skinny jeans yet.

On Movie: The Book Thief, I loved! ... Sorry! but American Hustle...nope ..

Viva the book, Oh holy book! I could not choose any of my favorites this month! Uh ... maybe this year were: Tick to the Tock by Matthew Turner or Indigo Incite by Jacinda Buchmann,However check of  reviews.

Book Final December 2013: The Return By Nicole R. Taylor.

Music:  " Blackbird singing in the dead of night, Take these broken wings and learn to fly, All your life...You were only waiting for this moment to arise"

MY REVIEW

Wolves are an issue that is not explored by my team  I like vampire, I think that was what prompted me to take this tour, broaden my horizons on more supernatural beings.

The cover is beautiful and certainly when I read the synopsis, I noticed Paige Donovan would know how to move from New York City to come up with Riley Gray.

The beginning starts very well since being introduced as Paige 's life is linked to the wolves as a child without ever knowing this . And over time she grows up and has a very different from what we can see of child life, and when his father dies and leaves him the cabin in the mountains , we again see that will change your life perhaps forever.

Reading is very easy , light and good writing helps the author, and if there is nothing complicated rhythm changes do not worry , very well directed .

The story has potential is different from the classic story of werewolves, wolves here are those that take the form of men. That gives an unexpected and interesting twist to the story . I must admit that some parts had some dispute , are small details , even with them the story is compelling . The love story of Paige and Riley is sweet from the start and when connected can fully perceive all those sensations of love and the story takes you by surprise on several occasions, by the collision of worlds Paige and Riley.

I could clearly imagine the characters , if well defined , everyone has their flaws and virtues assigned well .

I enjoyed reading , I like it and although I feel that I missed something , not even define that , the overall story is good, has some parts that maybe like me you out a little bit of balance , yet this very well written and with an open end to many possibilities .

If you want to explore a story about wolves or werewolves recommend it, if you love the stories of wolves you'll love this and if you want to discover the love story will keep you busy reading.

Designed by Brittany Bowman

Synopsis:

“My mom had always told me – when you meet “the one”, you’ll know; they’ll captivate your heart the moment you lay eyes on them. I had always wondered, though, if my mom’s words of wisdom were finite – if they applied to everyone. Maybe those who had found their one great love were the lucky few, and maybe the rest of us would have to settle for less than earth-shattering.”Seventeen-year-old Kat Walsh is a Gifted – a human with paranormal abilities. With her mom a former Angel and her dad a dream prophet, it’s always been in her genetic make-up to be extraordinary. Unfortunately for her, the world can’t handle the strange or unusual. So when she slips up and uses her powers at her high school in Ireland, the entire student body treats her like a freak – even the ones she thought were her closest friends.

Broken, but hopeful for a fresh start, she allows her parents to enroll her in a boarding school buried deep within the forests of a small Colorado town. At Midland Pines, School for the Gifted, she feels as though she can finally be herself; she makes new friends and even has the attention of the most popular guy in school – Levi. Everything feels normal again… or does it?

Not long after her arrival, weird dreams of an alluring boy whom she’s never met surface during the night, and the eerie, shadowy trees encircling their school seem to call to her. As these disturbing, yet enticing developments intensify, other bizarre occurrences happen – students and staff turn up missing, and mystery visitors leave gifts while she sleeps. With all of these other things vying for her attention, a desperate Levi has to fight even harder to keep her interest. But with the dreams of the attractive boy slowly captivating her heart, Kat has to make a choice – will she settle for ‘great’ Levi, or will she search for her elusive dream visitor, possibly stumbling across ‘amazing?’

From the author of the Alyx Rayer Chronicles, comes a refreshingly different Young Adult series with plenty of love, suspense, and a new take on the Paranormal.

Recommended for readers 16 and up due to mature content.

MY REVIEW

 Hello!!

Today I have an interesting and funny book about Indigo children, or rather as characters and a story full of fantasy, romance and the occasional mystery to discover and adventures with a touch of science fiction. The story focuses on Tyler and Toby, these two brothers have a wonderful relationship, and somewhat funny with extrasensory abilities they have (I would like to communicate me thus with one of my brothers, it would be very funny) but when Toby is kidnapped by an covert government agency, the way to find Tyler starts, and with them an adventure of discovery and for the curious group of people who accompany him to save his brother, and discover more abilities, unable to put aside the feeling you get when you're a teenager and discovering secrets behind the kidnapping of Toby.

The reading begins at a pace that is soft but as you progress, you will keep the edge of the book hoping to discover how  succeed in reach to  Toby  these curious characters, Eddie, Grace, Liliana and Sarah. Although Taylor and Toby were the points of attention because began with them this way, the other characters had to say it himself in this book, and see from different points of view of each skill, so it's situation . The writing is clear, but I had to stop to check some words or phrases, it was easy to follow the thread of reading. The book has good vibes, when from the beginning I know, than be a trilogy or will be continued with another book, I know which is to introduce a bit of what will happen, some clues that could be there for the second book or unsolved mysteries and will place us  the cards on the table of the about the characters that we could identify or are you like, my favorite is Grace.

A chapter that I found interesting and I take a deep breath! Was one called México,I not knew what to expect from there, but: Me gusto demasiado!! (translation: I really liked too much), a part where something is about Grace and the song Jaihouse Rock by Elvis and speaking Spanish, it was very cute and a moment very funny to read it (I had in my head the words and tone in Spanish). Mexican Music, well, one of my favorite is Natalia Lafourcade.

I liked the book, can play a little reality while at the same time continue the fiction side, recomedable for those who want to discover something new, not necessarily with paranormal themes from beyond, and with great touches of humor.

Review Knowing Jack by Rachel Curtis

Knowing Jack

 by Rachel Curtis

Publication date: January 17th 2014

Genres: Contemporary, New Adult, Romance

Synopsis:

KJI am not a slut, although I’ve been called one often enough. Yeah, I spent three months screwing one of my college professors, but I was crazy about the guy. Then he broke up with me.

I am not a bitch, although people like to say I am. I kept our relationship secret. I’m not responsible for telling the university administrators about it, but a lot of students still blame me for getting their favorite professor fired.

I am not a drama queen, although everyone thinks I am now. When I got a few nasty messages, I just deleted them. When I got the threat, I assumed it was someone being stupid. I still think that’s all it was. My parents worry, though, so they hired me a bodyguard. Now Jack follows me around, intimidating everyone who approaches me and looking obnoxiously hot.

This is what I am. I’m Chloe. I’m a twenty-year-old art history major. Kind of shy, although I pretend not to be. Stubborn enough to stay here for my senior year, even though everyone hates me.

And I’m stuck with Jack.

He calls me “Princess,” but I’m not a princess either.

Knowing Jack is a New Adult contemporary romance and includes adult content and language. The plot of the book is fully resolved at the end, but the last page includes a hanging teaser for the next book in the series.

MY REVIEW

Hello, This book came into my hands through an ARC for your honest review, Is very fast, very attractive for the girls, a book than very probably call the attention for the history of attraction between Chloe and your bodyguards, Jack.

When I read the synopsis of Knowing Jack, what caught my attention was the direct than protagonist was with herself, Chloe.
She shows us the direct than is when she accept that had a relationship with a teacher at your school, and at the break that relationship, the consequences arrived promptly. And with that, someone will have to protect her even of himself, Jack.

Reading, I must say it is very easy, very fast, if you not have pending reads I think maximun will take 2 days.

The story has potential, in some parts had some conflict, and I wish more than the author exploring that Chloe literally had a problem of bullyng by students and teachers for the fact than Carter (the teacher in question) was fired . This was offset by a story that was cooking with Jack, his bodyguard.

I could clearly imagine the characters, Chloe is a girl than have charisma and is funny in some parts of read, and others very confused with herself . And Jack, girls ... It definitely he will win your heart and your desire to have a boy and he to protect them.

I have a clash of opinion, I like but I lacked something, I don't know define, the overall story is good but could improve in some parts, is very well written and leaves me with the question whether there will be a second part, if well is yes, I would like to know and read it with pleasure.

This book is certainly for romantic girls, definitely.

The reading was for sunny days, with a ice tea and a sandwich.
