THE REVIEW

When I decided to take the tour for this book review was done by l I caught his synopsis, and of course could not forget that curious cover, fresh, young and different.

I have enjoyed this year much genres of books with New Adult, Romance and each has its own particular style and point of view. With London Bound, Nana Malone tells the story of Abbie and great way to deal with her reality and decide she wants something better.

I was very attracted to see that jump Abbie and decides to give it that refreshing may come across things and among them at least waited for her, someone who wants to be with him, Lex.

That road will definitely not be easy when the two protagonists that we present here, have much to say in the past that the two are willing to leave behind and that means a lot in the future.

Enjoy the book has ideas and points that make the story interesting, and show that sometimes you have to face more problems face to move forward.
It has a very good line and present ideas, at some points in the story perhaps cost me delve a bit, but nothing that the author could not easily resolve to turn to delve into the story.

Its main characters are strong and clear line. Abbie, I think it's a strong character and very determined main character. I like taking charge of your life and her gradually evolving.

It has many points in its favor, and the story manages a diverse mixture of feelings. Many girls could be identified very well and if you're a girl or strong and looking forward to a rotation guy in your life, this book is for you.

Genres: Adult, Romance

Synopsis:

A fantastical romance involving a girl, the music that fuels her, and her Ouija board.

Rosalyn possesses a sunny personality that is laced with quirks. Although she seeks acceptance in a world where she lives out of time, what she gets is ridiculed for her eclectic wardrobe and unconventional music collection.

One fateful night, Rosalyn bewitches Niles, a stylish man whose offbeat character perfectly complements her own. Unfortunately, he possesses a critical flaw that means relationship suicide for him and pretty much anyone.

While under the influence of insomnia-impaired judgment, Rosalyn summons Rock ‘n Roll deity Peter Lane back from the dead. Not only does he spin her hormones into a frenzy, Peter is also the precarious puzzle piece that brings sense into her world. When Niles learns that he can overcome his life-long challenge by helping Peter avenge his death, how far will he go to secure Rosalyn’s heart?

Why I Went Mod

By Diane Rinella

Since I announced the release of Scary Modsters I’ve been repeatedly asked, “Why did you make deceased rock star Peter Lane a mod? Why not go more modern?”

In the early 1960’s we had just gotten out of the bobby sox and saddle shoes phase and were looking to Jackie O for style tips. Fashions weren't exactly risky. When Peter's popularity started all of that was changing. Mary Quant, a fashion designer out of London, created revolutionary styles, color combinations, and high hemlines that have never left us. The mod look propelled fashion forward and signaled that the world was changing. It was sort of the shot heard around the world.

Working-class youth went out of their way to get the best possible fashion. There’s a misconception that the scooter-loving mods were rich kids while their rivals, the motorcycle-riding, rockers, didn't have money for fancy clothes. In talking to a lot of 60’s mods it seems that isn't true at all. The mods were just as working class as the rockers, but their priorities were different. They didn't believe in wearing something that they considered undesirable when they could to do better.

I have a few hang-ups with modern fashion. It seems like everywhere I go people are wearing clothes that are both so short and tight that their skin is popping out in an undesirable way or their clothes are so baggy that they are falling off. Now I know these are fashion statements, but they're not fashion statement that work for me. I have a hard time watching award shows. Some people are given great honors and they show up looking like getting out of bed was an inconvenience. It drives me crazy.

It seems that every twenty years we revisit an era. The poodle skirts and saddle shoes of the 1950’s came back in style in the late 1970’s when rockabilly hit. 1960’s fashions became popular again in the 1980’s, during the new wave revolution. In the 1990’s stores were flooded with bellbottoms and those big shirts that were all the rage in the 70’s. In the first decade of the current century we saw an 80’s, new wave resurgence. Now we are due for a 90’s resurgence, which puts us at grunge. The problem is that grunge had a very casual look that never went away. Also the 90’s weren't very interesting fashion wise. So where do we go from there? It seems only natural that we would look back to the revolution—the 1960’s. Have you seem those amazing, mod commercials for Rimmel? Everything old is new again.

What London Meant to Me

We’ve all experienced this. The overwhelming urge to run away from your life, from the thing that scares you most or hems you in.

In my latest New Adult Romance, my heroine Abbie takes off for London under the cover of nightfall, running away from expectations, her family, her ex’s betrayal. But it isn’t so much about what she’s running from, it’s about what she’s running toward—passion, a sense of adventure, and a dream.

I had that moment myself. And yes, I ran to London. After the events of September 11th, I struggled with staying in New York. I was in a dead end job doing something I didn’t love and the city that was normally so vibrant and alive felt hollow to me. After a year long stint in Ghana for a contract, I opted to attend graduate school in London. After all, I’d always enjoyed the city.

But I was unprepared for how alive I’d feel once I got there. In a matter of weeks, I had a job, had registered for my classes and knew the tube and bus schedule as if I was a born Londoner. Most people would assume I had the most fun tripping in my heels, running from club to club. Lol. And while that was enjoyable, I honestly had the most fun at my job. I know, weird right?

I worked at a call center full of ex-pat foreign nationals. I met people from South Africa, Zimbabwe and Brazil. Everyone was young and adventurous and wanted to explore. The moments between calls and between shifts were where I made some of the friends I still have to this day.

I also became addicted to running home between work and school to catch an episode of East Enders (A UK soap opera) and would have these hilarious philosophical conversations about why British television starts didn’t have that pretty, polished glow to them that our stars in the US did. With my schedule, I often had my groceries delivered. I took dance classes at Pineapple Dance studios and explored Covent Garden on the weekends. Going to the park meant Hyde Park and shopping meant the High Street or the West End.

But most importantly, in those moments of exploration and fun and dancing, and combing British bookstores looking for every Lesley Pierce and Martina Cole book known to mankind, I found myself. Oh yeah, and I went to a few classes too.

The friends and love that Abbie finds in London will change the course of her life, just like London did for me. And while the book is of course a fictional work. I couldn’t help but infuse some of my adventures into it. I hope you enjoy Abbie and Lex’s story as they explore themselves, shed their pasts and find true love.
